Halfway Reflection
Throughout this course, I have kept up with the weekly assignments mostly by setting extra reminders and putting due dates in my calendar on my phone. Sometimes, there are assignments that require more work and so I make sure to spread out the work throughout the week and give myself enough time to complete the assignments. For example, sometimes we are required to interview multiple people which takes more time than just a written assignment. We have also had to record ourselves doing an "elevator pitch" which also takes some preparation, so time management is definitely important in this course.
This course has definitely opened my eyes to how much detail must go into your work, especially if you have a business idea of your own. I have felt like giving up on my idea a few times when I thought it wasn't great or I couldn't think of ways to make it better. I think this course has helped me build a tenacious attitude because it forces me to write about my idea and keep up with it on a weekly basis.
Some tips I would have for a future student in this course would be definitely set weekly reminders for the assignments; make sure to pick an idea that you're passionate about and that affects you personally because it's a lot more fun to write about; and finally take advice from the peer reviews because it's always helpful to get an outside perspective.

Hi Emily, you touched on many of the same points that I touched on. I am really enjoying this class. The extra reminders in your phone are great to help you not miss projects. I am glad everyone seems to have a grasp on time management for this class.
ReplyDeleteHi, Emily! Great job on your post! I completely agree with your advice on choosing a business idea you enjoy and that will affect you personally because you will spend so much time on it and thinking about it and if it's not important to you, it will just be another dragging class. I like that you look ahead at assignments to see how involved it will be. That's great advice! I hope you had a great spring break!
ReplyDeleteHey Emily, I thought that idea of you setting extra reminders was a great idea that would eventually get anyone to do their work. I agree that there is a lot that goes into this course whether its interviewing, coming up with ideas, or analyzing entrepreneur situations. I thought your tip about picking an idea you are passionate about is a great way for future students to do well in this course.
