Final Reflection

The experience that sticks out the most to me in this class was the "What's your secret sauce?" assignment because it was really interesting to hear what the people closest to you think your biggest strengths and best qualities are. The most joyous experience for me in this class was figuring out more details about my app idea through these exercises and getting a better idea of what steps need to be taken if I actually want to create this app. I am most proud of myself for completing the elevator pitches effectively and stepping outside my comfort zone because that's not normally something I would enjoy doing.

I think I have definitely developed somewhat of an entrepreneurial mindset by taking this class. This class has taught me the thought process that an entrepreneur goes through in order to develop a solid idea and execute it well. There are many components that come with thinking up an idea and actually making it feasible.

To future students taking this course, I recommend thinking up an idea that you are passionate about from the start. I find it is much easier and more enjoyable to develop, write about, and speak about an idea that you are knowledgable about and that you want to continue developing because you have a personal interest in it. I find being genuinely curious and doing more research than expected helps to foster an entrepreneurial mindset.

  1. Hey Emily, great job on your post! It was great working with you in this course this past semester. I think the "Secret Sauce" assignment was also great for deterring strengths and weaknesses, especially since it came with criticisms from people close to us. I also agree that you need to be passionate about your idea in order to be successful in this class.

  2. Hey Emily,
Finally, the last assignment! Great job reflecting on what you've learned through this class, and how you can build upon the ideas that are given in the assignments. You have done a great job this whole course and I'm sure your hard work will pay off in the future. I also agree that this class is much easier if you pick an idea that you are passionate about. This helps with organization of ideas and other factors that help solidify your opportunity.

  3. Hey Emily, great final post. I as well thought that the secret sauce assignment sticks out the most to me during this course. It’s great that you think you developed an entrepreneur mindset from this course. Your idea for future students is a great idea, they should definitely focus on something that they will not be bored of while writing and trying to endorse as their own product.
