Elevator Pitch No. 2

On my last elevator pitch, there was some great feedback. I was happy to see that they thought my app was a good idea and that they thought I was clear and concise with my points about the app. Something that I need to work on based on the feedback I got is definitely showing more emotions and trying to connect with my audience. After watching it back again I saw that I really did not look all that happy and seeming more excited about my product could probably go a long way. Also, I could enunciate more and talk slower to get my points across more clearly. Lastly, a good opening line would draw people into the pitch.



Things I changed this time: I tried to show more emotion and be more engaging and detailed. I tried to enunciate and get my words out slowly so they're understandable. I also used my phone camera this time instead of my computer's camera so it's a higher quality video.

    I thought you did a great job last time you gave your pitch, but this one really sold me! You definitely hit all of the points you needed to get across, and your speech was concise and exciting! You were very detail oriented and confident, and that goes a long way when giving a pitch about a potential product to your customer base. It was also a good choice to increase your camera quality, presentation goes a long way!! Overall, fantastic job. I would buy your product, and I'm sure a lot of other people would too!

    Hey Emily, great job on your post. You pitch was very entertaining and you sold your idea very well. I think it was a big improvement from you last pitch according to your own review. You make great points about why your idea is so helpful compared to the options that are out there today. Overall, this was a great sales pitch that you were able to make into an elevator pitch.

    Hi Emily! I think you did a great job on your elevator pitch! I enjoyed hearing about your back story, it showed me why you wanted to create the app. I like how we got to know you better during the pitch, it made it more personable and enjoyable. I also think you did an amazing job describing how the actual app works. You were very detailed but still to the point. I think you had a great tone and spoke at a good pace. Overall I think you did a great job!

    Hi Emily! What an improvement from your first pitch. The first pitch was good, but this was even better. You really listened to everyones feedback and did what was said. I loved this and am ready to buy your product. This app should hit the market immediately. Great job!

    Hey Emily, great job on the video! I thought your elevator pitch was well rehearsed and planned out. You seemed to show enough emotion when describing your food searching app to convince me that you are passionate in your idea. Your description of the app and backing for your idea made me feel like I need your app more than I ever thought I did before.

A reflection on the feedback you received from your last pitch:  The feedback I got on the first one was basically to have more emotion and create a hook in the beginning to get people interested. I didn't get much feedback on the second one but I definitely took the feedback from the first one into account while doing this one. What did you change, based on the feedback?  When I recorded the first and second ones I was reading from a rough script so I could easily remember what I wanted to say. I also had to stop and rerecord a few times because I messed up. But this time, I had it mostly memorized and I didn't need a script at all. I also only needed to record it once, unlike the other times. Also, I added an opening hook which neither of my previous ones had and I, again, tried to show some more emotion to keep the audience interested and sell them on my idea. Overall, I was definitely more comfortable doing this one than I was doing the first two.

Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 2

Alternative Evaluation: In my interviews, I learned a lot about customer needs and wants when it comes to my app. It seemed they would be unwilling to buy this app, and would only download it if it were for free. I explained that it was my original plan to offer the app for free, and make revenue from ads and sponsorships from restaurants. One of them suggested to maybe even take that a step farther and make the app downloadable for free, but have additional in-app purchases for new features, which people could buy if they are interested. I thought this was a great idea and potentially could make for another successful part of the app. How/where do they buy: It was obvious to my interviewees that my app would be available for download on the App Store for iPhones or the Google Play store for Androids. Final Reflection

The experience that sticks out the most to me in this class was the "What's your secret sauce?" assignment because it was really interesting to hear what the people closest to you think your biggest strengths and best qualities are. The most joyous experience for me in this class was figuring out more details about my app idea through these exercises and getting a better idea of what steps need to be taken if I actually want to create this app. I am most proud of myself for completing the elevator pitches effectively and stepping outside my comfort zone because that's not normally something I would enjoy doing. I think I have definitely developed somewhat of an entrepreneurial mindset by taking this class. This class has taught me the thought process that an entrepreneur goes through in order to develop a solid idea and execute it well.
